Mass in Hampden was said at Academy Hall on Main Street from 1869 - 1879

St. Mary's first church was built on the present site of the White Birch apartments on Main St..

1954 was St. Mary's "Diamond Jubilee Year". A rustic shrine was built and dedicated to Our Lady Of Fatima. The shrine is still open 24 hours a day, serving people from near and far.

Our church as it stands today was dedicated by Bishop Christopher Weldon on October 5, 1963.
